My husband and I have polar opposite feet. Mine are super long, narrow, completely flat, and my toes are out of order size-wise. Full disclosure - my second toe is as long as some people's pinkie fingers. My husband's feet have high arches, orderly toes, and are candidates for a modeling job.
Almost every day I find myself wondering whose feet will our little lady have? Will we know right from the beginning?
And then I wonder, will our little lady actually be a little lady? We had two ultrasounds and both technicians said girl definitely. But I just don't quite believe it. Over the past few months I've heard more stories of couples told they are *definitely* having girls and then receive the "It's a boy announcement!" in the delivery room. I suppose I'll believe it when I see it.
The baby seems move around a lot starting at 11 p.m. Does that mean she's going to be a night owl like my husband? Back in the day when I could sleep normally I typically hit sack around 9 p.m.
Will she be friendly or shy?
Will she have blue eyes or brown?
Will she let me do her hair?
Will she love ice cream and peanut butter?
Will she watch the History Channel endlessly with her dad?
Will she be a Sox fan (like me) or a Yankees fan (like her dad)?
Will she be funny or serious - or both?
Will she like to read before she goes to sleep?
Will she enjoy dancing lessons and recitals?
Will she enjoy soccer even if she's not good at it?
Will she want to play at our house or over at her friend's?
Will she procrastinate or want to get things done right away?
Will she like dolls, blocks, or electronics?
Will she want a dog?
Will she want chocolate or plain milk when we stop at Dunkin Donuts?
Will she prefer the ocean or pools?
Will she like to go shopping on Saturday afternoons?
I am 37 weeks pregnant today and am considered full term. I don't want to go into labor early, but I am ready to have some of these questions answered.

Your "full disclosure" about your feet made me laugh!
My 14-year-old daughter - who has her dad's feet - also has long, narrow feet, with her second toe disproportionately longer than any of her other toes. The kids at school make fun of her "jacked-up" feet. However, I have told her that she has a model's feet.
Next time you look at a fashion magazine, take a long look at the shoe ads. More often than not, you will recognize that the second toe on the models' feet are longer than the big toes. So, if your daughter does inherit your feet, simply tell her that she has the feet of a model! :)

This is so sweet. It was very nostalgic reading you list. My little girl who turns 15 today came at 32 weeks and was perfect. My son came at 28 weeks and weighed 2 lbs. 13 1/2 oz. He went through all the stages perfect and came home at 4 lbs. He is now going to be 20 years old in November and in college. God is so good. Both my children and healthy and perfect. But the excitement of not knowing and that he or she will be here soon is the greatest joy.

Sylke - I always notice that the models toes tend to hang over open-toed shoes. I will use your line!
Terri - Three cheers to your happy and healthy family!

My daughter's feet were evident from her 20 week ultrasound..they were the exact copy of my husband's. She was born and we weren't surprised, she's now two and nothing has changed. By the way my husband wears a size 13 and she at 2 wears a size 10. My husband loves that she has his feet..lol.

That is too funny - the feet thing! I am wondering that about my son and he is 9 months old. I think he is tending toward my feet - but they are a combo of weird things - same second toe longer than first, super high arches, wide. It is hard to tell because his feet are so chubby right now!
I will say his 3-D ultrasound showed his face and he looked exactly like that when he was born - just like his daddy! We are still trying to figure out the rest - just what he will be like as he gets bigger. It is so fun!
